TJ, aka Teddy Jr.

Hello again!  Awww, a Saturday morning.  Do you like Saturday mornings?  As a kid, my Dad would wake us early, put on LP records like Doris Day and Tijuana Brass, and we kids would clean house.  Nice memory.  Speaking of memories, my Baby Cakes (little sister) had a teddy bear that she kept for years; I think she was like 4 when she got him.  Anyway, her poor home burnt to the ground and Teddy along with it.  She was so, so sad about that Teddy.  I made her a crocheted Teddy, and we named him TJ, for Teddy Jr.  There could only be one Teddy.   This card is for Baby Cakes, a colored up hello from me and TJ.  Really the image name is Billy Cowboy and he is pulling double duty as my Design Team Fat Page.  Billy Cowboy is from one of our fantastic sponsors,  Meljen's!  They have the cutest images, don't you think?  Here is TJ...

Nothing special about making Billy up...just colored him with Prisma Pencils and OMS and covered chipboard stars with DP.  Added silver star brads with the prongs cut off for his spurs and another star for his badge.  Put a feather in his hat and did up a tag and bow, wrapped all up in some cord.  YeeHaw!  That's it!  Meljen's images are so good that one doesn't have to do much to make a nice special card!

At Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude this fortnight, beside Meljen's, we have another great sponsor- StitchyBear!  Two wonderful sponsors and our theme is Anything Goes!  Isn't that something?  AND, you can enter your same card in our ATC's and Cards with Attitude Challenge also.  Three great sponsors for you over there!  And our Top 3 winners at both sites.  We hope to see you pop over to both challenge blogs (links are on the side-bar, upper right) and take a peek at what the other Design Team Members have to share with you.  Get inspired and enter our challenges!  We love seeing what you create!

Adios, Amigo! My hope is that you will have those little blessings to brighten your day and you give a big Yee Haw yell for all to hear...go ahead, do it, it will feel so good!

Wee Blessings

Hi ya all!
Sure hoping this finds you in good spirits and ready for a nice weekend!  Today is ATC's and Cards with Attitude Day!   Fantastic turnout this challenge- over 160 wonderful creations! Congratulations to the winners.  I am amazed at the talent to see.  So inspiring.

WOW, do we have the most fantastic sponsors for you this forthnight!  Sassy Studio Designs, Fresh Brewed Designs and Anita's Digital Art, topped off with Top 3 winners! Such a fun time!

I colored up this sweet little elf named Ashee, created by Anita's Digital Art.  I think he is the cutest lil' thing!  Used Prisma Pencils and OMS, tore up some stash paper and sewed it to the background, then added a lace lower border. Besides the lace, I made scallops around Ashee with a small circle punch, distressed them, glued them to the back of Ashee's oval frame and added pearls.  Placed a few flowers, some corner pieces, pearled butterflies and loose moving paisley cuts, sent by my good friend.  And don't forget the cheesecloth!  Finished off by poking in a beautiful beaded pin made by Karen at Busy Busy Honeybee's.  Adds such beauty; a perfect finishing touch.  This pin was a birthday gift from Karen, but she sells these lovelies also. Check out her shop!

Most of what I decorated with were new supplies from WOC and cuts from friends.  It was so, so fun but so, so hard to break into my new goodies!  I love to have such pretty things but don't want to use a one up!  Are any of you like that?  Such a silly.  But wonderful friends.

That's it for now.  Onto Challenge 17 at ATC's- Anything Goes!  See you very soon with Fat Pages Challenge news and card.  Oh, and thank you to my new followers!  I appreciate you so very much.

(Honest, we don't know how he got the black eye, my dad that is, not Gus.  Happy Father's Day, Daddy!  I love you!)

MVP

Oh my goodness, 3 times in one day and one more to go!

My nephew is a firefighter and usually I do him a birthday card with that theme, but this year I found out that his current passion is baseball.  He even goes with his teamies on a tournament trip to Viva Las Vegas!  I had a win of Bug-a-boo stamps so when I saw these cute, cute baseballs, I thought they would make the perfect card for him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NATE!

Colored these little guys up with Prisma pencils and OMS, mounted them on yellow card stock, then pop dotted them onto those neat little scalloped frames (cut by a very special friend).  Also pop-dotted the frames onto white card stock stained with creamy brown ink after cutting a circle from some stash DP.  The paper made a perfect looking baseball, I think!  All that onto more yellow card stock.  Inside it says Happy Birthday, Nate and an added little baseball character sliding into home base.  Super fun card to make.

I hope Nate likes his late birthday card.  He told me that he has saved every card that I have made him.  Last year  I called to wish him a happy birthday, no answer, so I started to sing him Happy Birthday into voice mail--my dog decided to sing along!  Nate called later laughing so hard!  Tickled me to make him happy.  It was pretty funny.

One more to go.  The grande finale!

Butterfly Kisses

Why hello again!  I haven't seen you in ages! I'm here for ATC's and Cards With Attitude.  Gettin' right down to the good stuff, we had 2 sponsors for Challenge 15, so that gave us TWO winners!  Now how many challenge blogs can you find with TWO winners, plus Top 3s???  And we had such fantastic sponsors- Meljens and Floppy Latte's, with happy digi winners Kate and Ali.  Our Top 3's went to Livert, CaryAnn, and Tracey McDonald, with an honorable mention to Alyce at Kit and Clowder!  Congratulations to you talented ladies!  Such lovely entries this challenge.

On to our current challenge at ATC's, #16 ANYTHING GOES, sponsored by the great Delicious Doodles giving the random winner 4 images!  Plus, we have our Top 3 winners who receive a special badge for their side-bar!  Wonderful, don't you think?  All the above in one challenge blog!  Well, actually 2 challenge blogs because you can enter into our sister challenge also, Fat Pages and Cards With Attitude!

My little bit larger than an ATC (3.5"X2.5") is Delicious Doodles' Fairy Fae.  She is so beautiful.  Reminded me of when us kids would give my Mom "butterfly kisses." We would put our eyes to hers and flutter our eye lashes together.  Did you ever do that?  Sometimes I still do!

Fairy Fae was colored with Prisma pencils and OMS.  Added some Glossy Accents to the butterflies and cut a few extra to pop around.  Added a rose given by a friend.  Framed her with black card stock then pop-dotted her onto a black card.  Inside is a piece of lavender parchment on which to write a note.  I am sending this to my Momma in California to remind her of Butterfly Kisses.  We may be able to visit soon, so I'll give her some myself!

OK, done with post 2, on to number 3!

go fish

Hi ya everyone!
I hope this finds you doing well!  I really do!  No stories to share yet so I'll get right to the important stuff and that is Fat Pages And Cards With Attitude!  Winner #42 Rachel Fisher, I'm sure is very happy with her win from The Cutting Cafe!  We have our Top 3 Winners also- Leesa, Dawn and Crafty Teacher!  They get our neat new Top 3 badge to display on their side-bar!

On to our new challenge, #16,  ANYTHING GOES!  Our wonderful sponsor this fortnight is Fresh Brewed Designs.  I chose the image Huckleberry Pie Goes Fishing.  I didn't make a true Fat Page page with ol' Huck, just a regular card.  That is one of the cool things about Fat Pages challenges and our sister challenge, ATC's and Cards With Attitude- you can do a true Fat Page or ATC, or you can do a regular card.  You can even enter your same project in both challenges!  And we have Top 3 Winners now to boot!  OK, OK, on to the image!

Colored Huck up with Prisma pencils on blue card stock.  My first time using a colored card stock.  I'm not sure if I care for the effect yet, but I think I will try my hand at some different colors.  Added Glossy Accents to the fish and dragonfly, a little feather in Huck's hat, and twine framing.  The embossed cloud and ribbon were gifts from friends!  Thank you Friends!  "go fish" is spelled using sticker letters from my stash.  Popped it all on some kraft card stock, framed in red.  Fun little card!

That's it for Fat Pages today.  Sure do hope to see your creations at the challenge blog!  Three more projects to show you today.  Making up for lost time!

Country Sewing, Meljen Style!

Why, hello again!
Nice to talk with you again!  This time I have an ATC's Cards with Attitude creation to share with you, a super image from our sponsor, Meljen's, called hmmm, what was the name of that image...oh yes, Sewing Machine!  Isn't it is great image?  So nice to use to whip up a quick card that looks great too.  Meljen's has super cool images.  From intricate to cute and simple.  They are our sponsor this fortnight at ATC.  Our theme is DAD/Anything Goes.  You can also enter our sister challenge, Fat Pages Cards with Attitude, with your same creation, and we have another great sponsor there, too!  And Top 3 winners!  As you can see, I didn't make a true ATC, but a regular card.  You can do the same, so be sure to enter our DAD/Anything Goes challenges!  What more could you ask for from a challenge?  And we love seeing your creations!  Here is mine for this fortnight:

Colored Meljen's Sewing Machine with Prisma pencils and mounted it with pop dots on some Kraft, DP, and light blue card stock, sewing all the layers.  I also did some paper piecing by adding shiny gold hearts (cuts from my best bud) and gluing red crochet thread over the spools and where the hearts hang.   Added two strands hanging from the sewing machine needles also.  The hearts are from the same good bud and "float" behind the image.  Love those hearts with this image, as I was going for a country look.  Glued on some buttons threaded with white crochet thread and added the sentiment stamp that I just happened to have- a win from Kraftin' Kimmie's.  Perfect for this image!  There you have it, my ATC's Card with Attitude creation!  Super fun to make.  I really need to work on getting my stitches straight, but this image is so cute that I don't think it is that noticeable (except to me of course, and now to you since I pointed it out!) I hope it adds to the country charm!

That's all from me for a few days.  I hope you get those bright spots in your days ahead and keep those stitches straight!

DAD and Clocks!

Hello all!
This morning I am showcasing Fat Pages Cards with Attitude using a template and images from our sponsor, The Cutting Cafe.  I laughed so hard when getting these images- my Dad is obsessed with clocks!  I'm not sure if he really likes them but he sure does have them everywhere.  And I mean everywhere!  The kitchen, bedroom, dining, and even the bathroom! One clock in every room isn't enough either.  He has to have 3 or 4 in each room!  He just gravitates towards clocks, not letting a broken one go by at a garage sale.  He'll bring it home, paint it up, redo the face and hands very nicely, and there you go, another clock!  Then he says, "Where shall I hang it?  I am running out of wall space."  So funny too, because hardly a one is set to the same time, let alone the right time.  Some even stand still, not telling the time at all!   But I guess at 88, if he wants clocks, by golly, he can have clocks!

The Cutting Cafe can set you up very nicely with this DAD template.  They have a fantastic variety of different templates and images that will go with them.  Fun!  I used the It's About That Time set, coloring the clocks with Prisma pencils.  Using watered down glue, I attached the clocks haphazardly to the face of a pre-cut DAD made of Kraft card stock, and finished off with a final layer of watered glue.  After letting it dry over night, I cut around the underlying DAD card, leaving a clock collage with a nice sheen. Added the Maya letters (a gift from a sweet friend), a few brads, ribbon and a hanging stamped hug ticket.  Oh, oh, and added a broken clock face to the ribbon.    After all, Dad needs more clocks!

A huge thank you to my new followers.  I appreciate you all very much.  To those of you in the UK, happy Queen celebrations.  I just learned what bunting is!  My best to you all.

PS I almost forgot...our challenge at Fat Pages Cards with Attitude this fortnight is DAD/Anything Goes.  I made my card 4x4, Fat Page size, but any card you make is acceptable.  AND you can enter your same creation into our sister challenge, ATC's Cards with Attitude!  Remember, we have Top 3 winners now, too!  And wonderful sponsors for both challenges, The Cutting Cafe and Meljen's.  We would love to see what you create, so come and join us!
